Adopt & Shop!
During the month of March, the merchants in Katonah are going to the dogs (and cats) with an “I Collect for Critters” campaign hosted by the Katonah Chamber of Commerce. The event will sponsor Rescue Right, founded by Penny Smith-Berk, Bedford resident and proprietor of Northwind Kennels.
Anne Hanley and Alan Eifert, co-presidents of the Chamber are revving up the organization and looking for creative ways to connect the community with commerce.
Each participating store will have collection boxes in their stores. They will be collecting cash donations but also towels, food, bedding, toys. etc. for the rescue pups and kittens. The goods will go directly to Rescue Right along with 50% of cash donations (25% will go to the Katonah Chamber and 25% to the John Jay Future Business Leader’s of America Club which is helping to organize and orchestrate the campaign). Each participating merchant will have a sign in their window and we hope the community will support these merchants who are supporting our campaign. So stop, shop and adopt if you can!
Each weekend in March (weather permitting), adoption events will be held in town with adoptable dogs and cats show-cased from 11:00-2:00pm . March 21st will also feature a bake sale to help raise funds for the Rescue. Volunteers are needed in 90 minute shifts for each adoption event. If interested in volunteering, please email Kathy Boyle at firstname.lastname@example.org or Liz Stevens at email@example.com
The “new and improved” Chamber is continuing to evolve and change for the better. We have a wood carved sign that will soon mark our Visitor’s Center located in the back of Kelloggs and Lawrence. Also coming to you soon is a Membership Survey so the Chamber can better serve you. We encourage feedback – “Help us help you!”
Stop by Eiluj and check out the 50% off table! Lot’s of great items to be bought.
And much, much more!
