The Katonah Museum of Art encourages the enjoyment, appreciation, and study of the visual arts. The Museum presents diverse exhibitions that explore ideas about art, culture, and society.

The Katonah Museum of Art, one of the most celebrated small museums in the country, was founded over 50 years ago by volunteers from local communities as an exhibition venue for fine arts. Nationally recognized, the KMA curates and hosts traveling shows, lectures, and workshops.

At our Learning Center we work intimately with schools and art educators to serve audiences ranging from preschoolers to high school students. We also reach out to college students, adults, and local working artists. Throughout the year, we mount three major exhibitions, interlaced with smaller attractions, in our 10,000 square foot building designed by the late eminent architect, Edward Larrabee Barnes. Among a stand of magnificent Norwegian spruce trees, the Sculpture Garden provides refuge and visual pleasure. The Katonah Museum also offers outdoor concerts, “artful” parties, international travels, and trips to other museums and private collections.
