The Katonah Art Center is dedicated to providing competent, professional art instruction in a non-judgmental environment while catering to the varying needs of different ages and levels. The Katonah Art Center strives to cultivate personal, long-term relationships with every student. We believe strongly that in developing a person’s artistic abilities we can improve that person’s life and self-esteem. It is our goal that each person entering the Katonah Art Center find a place of welcome and nurturing in which to discover his or her own creative voice.
Located in a newly renovated house in nearby Goldens Bridge, we offer over 75 classes for every age and skill level. We have two painting and drawing studios, a children’s studio, a MAC computer lab, two pottery studios, a darkroom and an all purpose studio for fiber arts, music, movie-making, acting and more. As of 2013, we are also the home to TADA!, an extensive program of Theater and Dance Arts with many class offerings and opportunities. We also offer weekend workshops ranging from fused glass to art and business marketing. Our student body consists of approximately half adults and half children.
Our popular Summer Art Camps offer week long camps, which can be attended full day or half day. Our younger students enjoy a mix of arts and crafts, stories, music and free art time in our Arts & Imagination camp for ages 3 ½ – 5. Our Kid’s Art Camp is a mix of drawing and painting instruction along with a weekly topic such as candle making, cartooning and jewelry making. Our camps for teens are week long art intensives focused solely on one topic. Teens can choose from a variety of subjects such as silkscreen/batik, outdoor painting, jewelry making and more.
