Volunteers Needed for Library Book Sale!

The Katonah Village Library Book Sale is quickly approaching. We need our loyal volunteer’s help again this year to make this major fund raising event a success.

The book sale will be held Oct 19—28, and we’ll begin setting up from Oct 14.

Saturday, Oct 14:
we need a few volunteers who can help move bookshelves, and get the sales rooms set up to receive books. Library hours are 10—5 on Sat.

Sunday, Oct 15: we need a couple dozen volunteers able to lift heavy objects to move all the boxes of books in storage into the sales rooms. The Library will happily acknowledge volunteer service credit to teens who may require it. Library hours are 1—5 on Sun.

Monday­—Thursday, Oct 16—19: we need volunteers to remove the books from their boxes and display them on the shelves and tables. The library is open at 10 each day and closes at 8 on Mon and Wed and at 6 on Tues and Thurs.

We need volunteers all during the actual sale from Thurs evening, Oct 19 through Saturday afternoon, Oct 28. We’ll need help at the sales desk, checking out customers, redoing book displays, and on occasion helping customers to their cars. We also need help packing up the remainder books on Sat afternoon, Oct 28.

New this year, we also need volunteers on Monday afternoon, Oct 30, to move the leftover book boxes into the Better World Book truck.

Contact Mary Kane if you can help with setting up the sales rooms (Oct 14—Oct 19). If you are unsure of your schedule, stop by the library whenever you can and I’ll put you to work.

If you can work the sale itself (Oct 19—Oct 28), please sign-up at the library (sheets will be available at the circulation desk) or contact Vicki Marwell. Vicki will be coordinating sales coverage.
