Katonah Classic Stage is a non-profit, professional theatre company committed to producing the most engaging classic and contemporary plays that will enrapture audiences in Northern Westchester.
Mission
The mission of Katonah Classic Stage (KCS) is to inspire and engage audiences with our commitment to community and artistic excellence both on and off the stage. We strive for a transformative experience, through empathy and imagination, by offering exceptional, collaborative, diverse, and professional productions of classical and contemporary plays with a core commitment to Shakespeare and other master dramatists.
Goals
KCS will establish a deep engagement with the community of Westchester County while at the same time positioning ourselves as a destination theatre for both the New York City metropolitan area and the lower Hudson Valley. KCS will hire from both the Katonah area and NYC in order to assemble casts and crews comprised of exceptional talent and allow for local artists and artisans to work alongside professionals, providing an enriching opportunity for everyone.
Over time, KCS will perform multiple productions in rep over the course of a full season. In addition to making classical theater accessible for all via its productions, KCS is dedicated to developing thriving educational outreach and Shakespeare training programs for both youth and adults. KCS will establish an artistic home for actors, artisans, musicians, and designers that audiences can look forward to seeing season after season.
